Yes January can certainly be an odd month. For many it is a time for new ideas, changes and resolutions but with it comes the aftermath of the Christmas celebrations and the "what have I got to look forward to." Well here are my handty tips to get you through this long cold month.
1/. Plan a girls or lads night in where everyone brings left overs - cheap and lots of fun.
2/. Take up a hobby, or new exercise. These don't have to cost a fortune, joining a local book club at the library, or walking cost no money at all and keep your mind active and increase seratonin levels (the happy hormone).
3/. Lack of sunshine can cause you to get depressed - taking a Vitamin D supplement can improve mood and prevent S.A.D disorder.
4/. Plan your year. Having things to look forward to helps to beat those January Blues. It also helps you budget.
5/. Put time aside for yourself. Relaxing with a book, having a hot bath and eating nutritiously all help with boosting your mood.
The winter weather is rapidly heading our way. The change in climate means we feel a quick change in temperature, the heating goes on and the wind dries out our skin. Check out our top tips to help your skin this winter.
1/. Check your moisturiser, the products you use in Spring and Summer, may not be the best choice during the winter months, choose a moisturiser with added Hydration, we love Frankincense Hydrating Cream (rrp £27.50) which is clinically proven to moisturise for 24hrs.
2/. Use a face mask that does not dry out the skin, many clay based masks work to remove moisture from the skin. We love Wild Rose Beauty Balm (rrp £38) for its wonderful organic ingredients which work to hydrate and nourish dry and dehydrated skin.
3/. Don't underestimate the power of the sun in the winter months, make sure you use a sunscreen if you are going to be outdoors. Neal's yard Wild Rose facial sunscreen SPF 30 (rrp £25) combines protection, moisture balancing and a wonderful fragrance to ensure your skin stays supple and nurtured.
4/. Invest in a facial once a month. Not only does this give your skin the additional nourishment it needs, it also brings about a sense of calm and well being. Reducing stress, and reducing the appearance of fine lines is always a bonus ahead of the party season.
5/. Using a Humidifier in your home can negate the drying effect of central heating. We particularly love the range from Neal's Yard,
